People often ask me whats so difficult about the s People often ask me whats so difficult about the soaring in Omarama. This picture tells a bit of the story. The clouds on the right side are from a sea-breeze that is making its way to the middle of the island, (while you can see the high cloud base in the back) this is a perfect, and typical example of the different air masses you can encounter in the same flight. New Zealand has amazing temperature differences from valley to valley and it can be changed by the hour....and of course cold air wants to go where the warmest air is!
I miss my office view so much. This picture is tak I miss my office view so much. This picture is taken at Lake Hāwea, basically on an easy final glide to Omarama, (so its can be seen on a local flight really.) As you can see visibility in NZ is second to none. It's not too late to book your visit to this gliding paradise, but don't leave it too long as the calendar is filling up as we speak.

Our new (new for us) DUO XL is on the way to Omara Our new (new for us) DUO XL is on the way to Omarama! To my mind the DUO is hands down the best training glider out there. Thanks for the amazing support and hospitality for @aeroclubpirmasens (the original owner of the glider) and @schempphirth for building it!
