Built for exploring. Verify before flying. Airspace has been rebuilt directly from nine official NZ Air Navigation Register PDFs, each effective 1 October 2026 . Definitions were downloaded from AIP New Zealand. Every area links to its source PDF and shows definition and boundary page numbers.

Responsibility and disclaimer This map is provided free of charge for general information and education only. It is not an official aeronautical chart and must not be used for navigation, airspace clearance decisions or as a substitute for flight planning. Boundaries, heights, frequencies and other information may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Pilots remain responsible for checking current official AIP publications, charts, supplements and NOTAMs, and for confirming applicable frequencies, clearances and airspace activation with the appropriate authority.

What is included 163 mapped airspace volumes intersect the South Island / Cook Strait region: CTA C and D, CTR, CFZ, MBZ, GAA, restricted areas, danger areas, military operating areas and transit lanes. The 2025 GNZ polygons have been replaced. Subtractive rings are removed from their parent areas.
Geometry limitations 23 areas contain geographic-feature borders that have not yet been traced. These road, railway, river and coastline segments are connected by their published endpoints, making those polygons approximate. They carry an ≈ label, a dotted outline and a warning in the detail panel. Do not use these depictions to determine boundary clearance.
Coordinate-defined arcs and circles are sampled for display. This is a derived reference map, not an official aeronautical chart. Low flying zones, parachute areas, visual reporting points and temporary airspace are not included in this edition. Unshaded space does not establish unrestricted airspace.
Limits, activity and radio AIP conditional limits and remarks are preserved. SFC means surface; FT limits are AMSL unless the text says otherwise; FL means pressure altitude at 1013.25 hPa. The altitude filter uses nominal FL × 100 and leaves conditional limits visible. It does not model QNH, terrain, activation or the effect of active GAAs on controlled airspace.
Published broadcast intervals, transponder requirements, authorities and activation conditions appear in each area’s AIP remarks. Polygon frequencies come from the current register. Additional tower and approach references retain their separately linked AIP sources; their currency has not been reverified as part of this boundary update.
No live NOTAM or activation feed. AIP supplements and subsequent changes have not been reconciled. Check current AIP, charts, supplements, NOTAMs and ATC before flight.
